AT a time like this, MC needs 2 things. Hide his actual strength and probably a mask so that he can presume an alter ego to kill his foes!

Damn. 4 years passed in a flash! I kind of wish there were more adventures in the last 4 years but I know he has to hide his cultivation so he can't really fight against a tough opponent or he will risk exposure.

It's not terribly uncommon. Most Chinese cultivation fiction entails even elites needing centuries of cultivation. Time skipping only a few years is actually quite good.
